About Us
We are a club based in the inner north west of Melbourne, now meeting in Ascot Vale. The club was established in 1994, growing out of the long-established Essendon Toastmasters club. We have held over 400 meetings, and have a strong mix of new and experienced toastmasters.
We meet every fortnight (approximately), learn more about our meetings on the Meetings Page.
What is Toastmasters?
Toastmasters is a forum for learning public speaking. It is club based, where members learn from each other in a supportive environment. Toastmasters has a long history, dating back to 1924. You can learn more about the history of toastmasters on this history page.
The Toastmasters philosophy is that public speaking is something you can never have enough practise at. Hence, every member is encouraged to speak at least briefly at each meeting, every member is encouraged to give speeches, take on roles, and even judge at other clubs.
Toastmasters also has a strong leadership stream, where many aspects of being a leader are imparted.
